Where is the Ventura Botanical Gardens?
The location of Ventura Botanical Gardens is Grant Park, in the foothills above City Hall in downtown Ventura. The first trail, the Demonstration Trail, is complete. Almost a mile long and six feet wide, with a decomposed granite surface and hand‐built stone walls, the trailhead begins at the upper parking lot behind City Hall at 501 Poli Street. Planting for the Chilean Gardens has begun. When completed, the Chilean Gardens will be the largest in the world, outside of Chile. Grant Park is open from dawn to dusk.
What are you doing until the whole project is completed?

At long last, the Ventura City Council voted to approved our Master Plan and lease. Ten years of process development and fundraising along with meeting markers and requirements by the City (including development of Vision Plan along with meeting environmental requirements) culminated with the sound of enthusiastic applause as the Council members voted unanimously in our favor.
This is a major achievement in the progress of creating the gardens at Grant Park. It means the real work for building the gardens can now move forward at an accelerated pace. Next steps will include the completion of the first trail, building out 30% of the Chilean gardens, building a brand new trail and planning for Phase III.
What is possibly the most transformative project in Ventura County—one day to become the jewel of the central coast—is now well on its way.
